MD, MBA, LL.MMehmet G. HIZARCI has developed a multidisciplinary career in healthcare business taking senior leadership positions at international level.
Dr. HIZARCI completed his medical education at the University of Ankara Medical School which included medical studies in the United States. After graduation, he practiced medicine mainly in ultrasound diagnosis in the field of radiology.
Until joining to Philips Healthcare as the Managing Director of Turkey, Dr. HIZARCI took leadership positions in multinational corporations such as Baxter International.
He held Regional, European director positions at Philips Healthcare. Between 2005 and 2008 he has been CEO of high-end Surgery Hospital and Chairman of Hospitalia, a high level hospital and hotel complex. He has led the project from the concept phase until and including implementation. In May 2008, he joined to Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) as the Executive Director and the Chairman of the Business Excellence Program.
Dr. Hizarci holds an MBA degree from the Koç University, Istanbul Turkey and Finance Program Certificate from the Insead University, Fontainebleau, France. He also took specific telemedicine courses at the South Florida State University, USA. Mehmet Hizarci is also certified as an EFQM Assessor. He has led and conducted business excellence programs at Philips Healthcare and Dubai Healthcare City, shown as best practices and winning quality awards.
Dr. Mehmet Hizarci has completed advanced management in healthcare and comprehensive leadership programs at the Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA and is member of Harvard Alumni.
In 2016, Dr. HIZARCI completed masters in Private Law in Healthcare receiving his LL.M.
In the last five years, Dr. HIZARCI has been concentrating on Value Based Healthcare (VBHC) and is an active party in ICHOM (International Consortium in Healthcare Outcome Measures) and VBHC Europe. He is working on the development and implementation of outcome measures at international level using big data analytics and AI.
In addition to his Chief Strategy Officer position at the Medipol Healthcare and Education Group in Turkey, Dr. Hizarci is running VBHC implementation.
Dr. HIZARCI is a member of American Telemedicine Association, Harvard Business School, Koc University and University of Ankara Alumni Organizations, American College of Healthcare Executives and World Healthcare Tourism, Turkish Private Hospitals (OHSAD) Associations and Istanbul Chamber of Medicine. He has been invited speaker at prominent healthcare congresses and conferences in Europe and Middle East. Mehmet Hizarci speaks English, French, Dutch, Turkish and Russian.
